Following its initial certification, which was completed in March 2022, ICIG Business Services continued its trajectory towards implementing a state-of-the-art Management System for Information Security (ISMS). The achievement of this goal was now confirmed by an independent audit, resulting in the renewal of the ISO 27001 certificate.
“It was quite an effort to get our business recertified, but it was well worth it. We are facing new developments in cybercrime every day, so we need to stay on par with the attackers”, says Martin Zaiser, CEO of ICIG Business Services.
ISO 27001 is an internationally accepted standard that describes the requirements for implementing ISMS. In its latest edition from 2022 it contains more than 90 controls that cover all aspects of Information Security, ranging from encryption and access control to new topics like cloud security and threat intelligence.
“The new edition of the ISO standard challenged us to look at Information Security from new perspectives, which was eye-opening in some situations. It is good to see the ISO standard adapting to address newly emerging risks and threats in our IT environment. This drives us forward and makes working in this area interesting” say Christoph Haas, CISO of ICIG Business Services.
While ICIG Business Services has now successfully completed its recertification, work continues to continually raise the overall level of security. As mandated by the certification scheme, annual surveillance audits will take place to ensure that continual improvement of the information security management system and the implemented security control continues. “This is another great achievement for us, and our customers will definitely benefit from the renewed certification as well. Not only today, but also in the long run”, states Martin Zaiser.
